Hernando County is offering a rebate program – up to $200 off your water bill – for installing a low-flow toilet. Billy the Sunshine Plumber can help you get that rebate.

Hernando County utilities customers may be eligible to receive credits on their water bill for installing low flow toilets under a program the county is offering that’s good through Sept. 28, 2020.

Under the program, which is available only to customers of Hernando utilities, customters can receive up to $200 – $100 per toilet – water bill credit for qualified customers who have their high-gallon per flush (gpf) toilet (toilets manufactured before 1994 using 3.5 to 7 gpf) changed out with a new water-saving toilet using 1.6 gpf or less.

Program requirements:
1. Your home must be older than 1994*
2. You must currently have a 3.5 gpf or higher toilet
3. You must be a HCUD customer
4. You must use a participating plumber for purchase and installation of your new toilet(s). (Billy the Sunshine Plumber is one of those approved plumbers.)

*If your home was built in 2000 or before and you have not received a low-flow toilet rebate in the past, you may participate in this program by replacing a 1.6 gpf toilet with a 1.28 gpf toilet.
