You can unclog a toilet without a plunger, according to thespruce.com. All you need is a regular sized box of baking soda and up to a gallon of vinegar. First you pour the contents of the baking soda box into the toilet, then you begin to slowly pour the vinegar into the toilet bowl.
“It will create a foaming action as it comes into contact with the baking soda,” thespruce.com says. “You don’t want to dump it all in as you will have a frothy mess erupting from your toilet. Instead, slowly add up to a gallon of vinegar and get the action started but under control.”
Let it sit for awhile and then flush. That should take care of things.
“To prevent future problems, pour some hot—but not boiling—water into the bowl, and give it another flush,” thspruce.com adds. “This will help to remove anything that may have been left behind after the vinegar-baking soda flush. Do not use boiling water as you could crack your toilet.”
